Dogs, Cancer and the Power of Unbreakable Bonds

Welcome to Unleashing Hope, a unique project dedicated to raising awareness about cancer in dogs and humans, celebrating the indomitable spirit of our furry companions, and supporting vital cancer research.

Through a collection of heartfelt stories and captivating photographs, we aim to honor the courage, resilience, and unwavering love shared between dogs and their human companions on the cancer journey.

Whether you or your dog have faced cancer, triumphed over it, or experienced the heartbreaking loss – there's a place for you to share your story and make a difference through this project.

Approximately 1 in 3 dogs will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and in humans, cancer is responsible for nearly 1 in 4 deaths.

That’s far too many, but together we can make a difference.

How Does It Work?

Click any APPLY NOW button to fill out and submit your application. We’ll review all applications and be in touch to let you know if you’ll be moving forward.

We want to include a variety of stories in this project, and there will be other ways to honor your pets should your application not move to the next step.

We’ll hop on a Zoom call to talk more about your story and to learn more about you and your dog.

This is also where we’ll talk details like date/location, and any potential artwork you may be interested in creating during our time together.

Time for your session!

We’ll work together to get not only adorable photos but deeply meaningful images as well that truly capture your story and the journey you’ve been on together.

Within one week, we’ll get together to view the images we created together and I’ll assist you in designing the perfect pieces to memorialize your journey of strength and resilience.

This project is open to people, too! If you have or had cancer and your canine companion has played a crucial role in your journey, I invite you to apply as well!

The Details

Selected applicants will pay a $99 fee which includes:

  • An on-location mini portrait experience with Marie Wulfram Photography (discounted full session upgrade is available)

  • A double-page spread in the Unleashing Hope collector’s edition coffee table book featuring you and your dog’s story and some photos from their session

  • 50% of this participation fee is donated to Animal Cancer Foundation and American Cancer Society (all proceeds split 50/50)

  • $100 artwork credit to spend at your reveal and purchasing appointment which can be used towards printed artwork purchases made during this appointment**

  • 5% of additional sales also donated

** No additional purchase is required to participate. Products and digital files (including the finished book) are NOT included. Pet portrait clients spend on average $2000-3500 on their products and digital files. Flexible, in-house payment plans are available.

Unleashing Hope: How You Can Make a Difference

Through this project, we aim to raise both awareness and funds for vital cancer research that benefits both humans and our furry companions.

Your support will enable us to donate a significant portion of the proceeds to the Animal Cancer Foundation and American Cancer Society, two organizations committed to finding better treatments, improving outcomes, and ultimately finding a cure for cancer in both dogs and humans.

  • The purpose of this project, Unleashing Hope, is two-fold.

    Firstly, it aims to raise funds for cancer research, bettering what we know and how we fight, improving treatment plans and success rates. By participating in this project, you are directly contributing to the fight against cancer in both humans and pets.

    Secondly, it seeks to celebrate the profound bond between humans and their pets, particularly during challenging times such as a cancer diagnosis. Through photography and storytelling, we aim to capture and share the inspiring stories of individuals and their furry companions, bringing awareness to the healing power of the human-animal bond.

  • Absolutely! On our Zoom call, we’ll discuss where you are in your cancer journey together, how they’re feeling and what their strengths/limitations are, to help us ensure the best and most comfortable experience for everyone.

  • Because of the nature of these stories, it’s highly encouraged for you to participate in this project alongside your furry cancer warrior. Your love and support is just as much a part of their journey and should be honored as well.

  • Funds will be donated directly to the organizations on a monthly basis based on the events that have happened each month.

    Session fees will be donated right away, the portion of sales will be donated at the end of each month sales take place, and book proceeds along with Gala ticket sales and Silent Auction sales will all be donated simultaneously following the event.

  • Not at all! If you simply want your dog to be included in the book and Gala, that is perfectly fine!

    Should you wish to invest in oyur experience and purchase photos or products from your session, 5% of that sale will also be donated to the Animal Cancer Foundation and American Cancer Society.

  • We understand that the loss of a beloved pet is a difficult and emotional experience. If your pet passes away before the scheduled session, we extend our heartfelt condolences. In such cases, we offer the option to include a tribute or memorial to honor your pet in the project. We are here to support you through this challenging time and will work with you to find a meaningful way to remember your furry companion.
