Theo's Snowy New Year's Session - Tacoma Dog Photography

When fresh snow falls in Tacoma, there's no question that schools and businesses will be closed down and everyone will be out enjoying the powdery goodness!

For Theo and his mom, it also meant the perfect time to get some snowy forest photos in the woodland heart of Tacoma, Point Defiance Park.

The Story of Theo

When asked how Theo and his mom met, this is what she had to say:

"I saw him up for adoption in Texas! My boyfriend always likes little dogs (which are also great) but I really wanted a big dog I could train."

Theo is described as...

  • A Goof

  • Smart

  • Handsome

And I couldn't agree more.

Towards the end of his session in the wilds of Point Defiance Park, we opted to get some shots of him running and jumping in the snow.

We found a lovely stretch of trail and the perfect log to have him jump over.

Though, he was resisting jumping over it!

Instead, Theo would follow his mom AROUND the log instead of jumping over it!

So what I had mom do was a few trials of jumping over the log herself so he would get an idea of what we were after, and that did the trick!

He was a natural. And the best part? Theo was safely on leash the whole time. I bring an extra long leash with me to all sessions just for such occasions.

And as usual, mom texted me a photo of him passed out in the back of the car on their way home.

A happy, tired pup.
